New features in COBISS+ and mCOBISS
The presentation will show the main new features implemented in COBISS+ and the mCOBISS app in the past 2 years. It will focus on the upgrade, updates and expansions of the COBISS+ and mCOBISS software that enable an enhanced user experience. These include the changed domain or web address of COBISS+, implementing the ADZ portal that enables all COBISS+ users to search and use open-access e-resources, as well as inclusion of the Unpaywall database that contains tens of millions of open-access scientific articles and e-books. Supplementing the Advanced search with the option for limiting search results with some of the more important filters before the search. The option for citations in different citation formats is added to the record for individual material units, as well as the information about the scheduled loan period and the queue in the case of reserved material. A new function enables setting and adding alerts, i.e. alert service. We upgraded the option for borrowing and early returning of materials from providers Audibook and Filmoteka. For school libraries users, we upgraded the Arnes AAI login to My Profile, which makes it easier for them to login and use COBISS+ and the mCOBISS application. If the user selects the pickup location “Home delivery”, the delivery address appears and they can change it in My Profile.
The mCOBISS app has been updated with new functions and we renewed the appearance of the app for Android as well as iOS users. The app now allows resetting the login password and we also enabled online registration to the library as well as other methods of login to My Profile, i.e. with an email address and Arnes AAI login. We also included some updates in mCOBISS, which are consistent with COBISS+.
