Mag. Miro Pušnik
Central Technical Library at the University of Ljubljana
Miro Pušnik is the Director of the Central Technical Library (CTK) at the University of Ljubljana since 2009. Before that he was Adviser to the Director in the field of developing digital services and the head of the Digital Library of the University of Ljubljana. He is also the president of the National Council for Library Activities of the Republic of Slovenia, member of the Leaders Group Coalition S and a member of the work group EOSC Rules of Participation. He is actively participating in various work groups to prepare formal implementing acts for using open science in Slovenia, such as the action plan Resolution on the Slovenian Scientific Research and Innovation Strategy 2030 and implementing acts for using open science based on the Scientific Research and Innovation Activities Act. He is an very knowledgeable in open-science policies in the European Research Area and he shares his knowledge and experience within the framework of the Open Academy operating under CTK. Besides handling research data, he is also professionally involved with some other practices of open science, such as providing the infrastructure for open publications, early and open sharing of researches as well as citizen science. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture – Animal Production and a Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences – Information Science. Both titles were acquired at the University of Ljubljana.
