Miran Petek has been employed at IZUM since 1997, where he works in the software development department. For the past 20 years, he has focused on the integration of foreign information services and the management of access to information resources. His work includes authorized access to licensed electronic resources, consortium services, and other tasks in the field of information discovery.

He also contributed to the development of the Academic Digital Collection of Slovenia (ADZ). In recent years, he has been actively involved in the development of the COBISS Digital Repository (dCOBISS) application and supports activities in the field of open science.
