Milena Bon is a university-graduate librarian with a professional librarian and the professional title of library specialist. She gained her working experience in the school library of primary and secondary schools and was the director of a public library. Since 2010 she has been working at the National and University Library, firstly in the Library Development Centre, and, since 2020, in the Department for Training, Development, and Consulting (IRIS). She holds the professional research title of Senior Research Assistant. She has authored or co-authored several monographs and articles. She was awarded the Čop Diploma in 2000.

She has presented papers at home and abroad, participated in the ERASMUS+ and Finlit (financial literacy) projects, and conducted training courses for librarians. She is currently the content editor of the Knjižničarske novice portal.
