Students with blindness are exposed to a variety of textbooks, workbooks, worksheets and other learning materials during their schooling, but these are not always directly useful to them. They need to be adapted and converted into a more accessible format in an appropriate and professional manner. Teaching materials for the blind are printed in Braille or prepared electronically for use with a Braille display. To make pictorial material accessible to blind users, it must be described or converted into a tactile format. Particular attention is also paid to transforming individual exercises into a form that can be solved by blind people. The presentation outlines the various reasons and benefits of adapting materials from the perspective of blind users.
