Dr. Maja Peteh is a librarian with a rich and varied professional career that began while she was still a student and has taken her through various types of libraries. Since 2004, she has been the Head of the Forestry Library of the Slovenian Forestry Institute, which also served as a higher education institution until 2024, giving her a deep understanding of the complexity and diversity of library operations in a research environment.

In recent years, she has been deeply involved in the field of open science, where she participates in numerous institute-level, inter-institutional, and national working groups, thoughtfully and pragmatically introducing innovations and best practices into the work environment of the Slovenian Forestry Institute.

She works as a librarian, cataloguer in the COBISS system, data consultant and data librarian, and advisor to book and journal editorial boards. She is also active in Slovenian and international professional associations.
