In user training, the National and University Library of Slovenia has always followed the development of library resources and services. The automation of operations in the COBISS system at the end of the 1980s encouraged the organization of courses for using the computer catalogue of the library. Further development showed the need for user training for network access to CD-ROMs, remote use of databases of electronic journals and books, use of search engines on the Internet, use of combination search engines, open access publishing, etc. We currently run six courses in our regular programme, as well as customized courses for specific groups by agreement. We have also prepared an online classroom and various guides. The management of registrations for courses is regulated by a special system, the promotion of courses for users is also important. After the coronavirus epidemic, most courses are held with the support of the videoconference application Zoom. In the conclusion of the paper, we highlight the challenges we face.
